AFCCC food waste solutions well received at APEC 2021

June 2021

AFCCC chairman Mark Mitchell's presentation at APEC 2021, held in Chinese Taipei at the end of June, was delivered during a workshop on reducing food loss and waste along the food value chain during and post COVID-19. He provided details of the measures being taken in Australia, including the Australian Food Pact being launched in August 2021, to find solutions to food waste and adopt the guiding principles that will be necessary to change the Australian food cold chain culture to one of total compliance and safety. Event coordinator Professor Emily Chang reported that some attendees had responded to Mark's session by saying they learned a lot, both on a personal level and in their capacity as delegates.
