UN brief de-mystifies cold chain management of COVID vaccine distribution

Since the vaccine cold chain may be perplexing to the non-specialist, OzonAction and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) have teamed up to de-mystify the subject by developing a Cold Chain Technology Brief. It informs ozone officers, government officials, policymakers, and refrigeration stakeholders about the key aspects of temperature control, the variety of vaccine cold chain applications, good operational practices, the different types of refrigerants being used, and challenges related to this sector.

As a non-for-profit company, the Australian Food Cold Chain Council does not maintain offices, but the Board of Directors and select committees meet regularly in capital cities.

Decisions of the Board and all advocacy matters are handled either by the Executive Director Dr Greg Picker, the chair Mr Mark Mitchell, or appointed directors.

Any person or business in the food chain committed to the mission and values of the AFCCC shall be entitled to membership, and must be nominated by a financial member of the AFCCC and such nomination be approved by the Board.
